Director of Sport (DoS), Steve Ninvalle has congratulated Guyana’s young Junior Jaguars on winning the Tier Two Championship of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-14 Challenge Series.
Guyana defeated Suriname 4-2 on penalty kicks after the teams played to a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time, securing a well-earned regional title.
Ninvalle, on behalf of the National Sports Commission (NSC), extended congratulations to the players, coaches, and support staff for their impressive achievement.
He said the accomplishment was a source of pride for the entire country and highlighted the importance of continued investment in youth development.
“The National Sports Commission, and by extension the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, and the entire Guyana are extremely proud of this achievement. We congratulate these young players on representing our country with distinction, and we look forward to seeing their continued development through the various youth programmes in Guyana,” Ninvalle said.
He added that the success of the young Jaguars demonstrates the potential within Guyana’s youth football system and should serve as encouragement for the continued development of young athletes across the country.
