Dozens attend Sheltez development programme

In its Fourth year the Sheltez Tennis Club, formerly known as Park Players Club, Easter vacation introductory development and enhancement programme remain high on the agenda for youths willing to learn and enhance their skill in lawn tennis.

On Tuesday at the National Racquet Centre this was evident as 28 young players age 4 to 16, most of them in a new interest while others club players looking to enhance their skills, were busy going through basic tennis drills to ensure they improve at the end of this two week Easter Vacation Camp.

According to the event facilitator Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, the event has seen a consistent participation of 28 children since its commencement on April 10 and she is pleased with the urge of the young participants.

Daly-Ramdyhan is being assisted by national men’s champion Anthony Downes and top junior player Kalyca Fraser on a daily basis.

There are three overseas participants in the programme, two from The Twin Island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the other from Canada.

Homesafe Security is the sponsor of the programme.

Sessions are expected to close on Friday but there will be another development programme in July-August.
