Home News Dr Roger Luncheon hospitalised
Former Head of the Presidential Secretariat under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) regime, Dr Roger Luncheon, is hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation after being rushed there on Thursday morning.
PPP General Secretary, Bharrat Jagdeo confirmed this but did not release any details.
“Roger has gone to the hospital a few times before so we’re hoping that everything goes well and he goes back home safely,” Jagdeo stated.
In 2014, Dr Luncheon had revealed that he is suffering from gastrointestinal cancer. In fact, the PPP stalwart has been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of weeks.
He was last seen publicly at the party’s annual commemoration rally in honour of the late PPP founder and former President, Dr Cheddi Jagan, at Babu Jaan, Port Mourant.
Luncheon had served as Cabinet Secretary and HPS for over 21 years.
