Drive abandons car with over 21kg of ganja

The Police are hunting for the driver of a motor car that on Saturday was left abandoned on the No. 6 Public Road, West Coast Berbice with over 21 kilograms of cannabis.
Based on reports received, the driver of the white Toyota Carina 212 motor car fled the scene after he crashed the vehicle into the rear of another vehicle.
After the accident, which caused extensive damage to both vehicles, Police ranks checked the 212 motor car and found the large quantity of marijuana on the back seat of the car wrapped in black plastic bags. The illicit substance, when weighed, amounted to 21.770 kilograms.
Both of the vehicles have been lodged at the Police station as ranks continue their investigations.
