Driver arrested following discovery of gun, ammo at Itaballi
Ranks of the Guyana Police Force on Wednesday afternoon intercepted and conducted a search on a vehicle at the Itaballi checkpoint in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) during which an unlicensed firearm was found in the possession of the driver.

Based on Police information, ranks stopped the pick-up truck at about 16:00h, which at the time was occupied by the driver and another person.
They proceeded to conduct a search on the duo and a 9mm pistol with 12 matching rounds were found in the possession of the driver.
Since he was not a licensed firearm holder, he was cautioned and arrested.
Police are continuing their investigations.
