Dwayne Christiani is alleged to have driven motor car PRR 2605 in a manner dangerous to the public last Saturday, April 22, 2017, thereby causing the death of William Stanford on the East Bank Demerara highway at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.

The 22-year-old appeared on Friday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

In an application for bail, Christiani’s lawyer told the court that his client is not a flight risk because he has a permanent place of abode at Republic Park, East Bank Demerara. He added that his client had cooperated with police at all times, and was released on $20,000 station bail.

Prosecutor Alvin Moore did not object to Christiani being granted bail, and this defendant was accordingly placed on $400,000 bail with the condition that he has to report to the Providence Police Station every Friday until completion of the trial.
