Driver remanded to prison for deadly stabbing at birthday party

Remanded: Orden Griffith

Orden Griffith, a 47-year-old driver from Lust-en-Rust, West Bank Demerara (WBD) was remanded to prison for the murder of 23-year-old welder Ali Mark Augustine which took place on Saturday.
Griffith appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Wales Magistrate’s Court and was not required to plea to the indictment.
As such, he was remanded to prison until October 4.
It was reported that on the day in question, the now-dead man attended a birthday party in Lust-en-Rust. Whilst there, an argument broke out between Augustine and a group of men. This quickly escalated into a physical altercation, during which Augustine was stabbed once under his left armpit.
He attempted to escape his attackers but collapsed in a nearby yard. He was picked up and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
