Drivers hospitalised following 2-vehicle collision

Two men are now nursing bodily injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital following a two-vehicle collision along the Montrose Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), on Sunday. The injured men are 37-year-old Kellon Albert of Lamaha Street, Georgetown, and 42-year-old Rajah Chato of Dhanraj Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
The accident reportedly occurred at about 06:15h and involved a motor car bearing registration number PWW 7239 driven by Albert and motor car PRR 9123 driven by Chato.
Based on information received, motor car PWW 7239 was proceeding along the Montrose Public Road at a very fast rate of speed when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle thus resulting in the vehicle crossing over the median and colliding with the other motor car.
Due to the impact of the collision, both drivers received injuries about their bodies. They were pulled from the wreckage by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they were admitted.
Their condition is regarded as serious but stable. An investigation has been launched into the accident.
