Drug trafficking accused remanded

Joslyn Felix, also known as Joslyn Percival and Justin Felix, made a virtual appearance at the Linden Magistrate’s Court and was remanded on a drug trafficking charge.

Felix, 40, of Oronoque Drive, Mackenzie, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), was charged under Section 5 (1) (a) (i) of the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substance Control Act Chapter 10/10.
Felix denied the charge, but was remanded to prison by Magistrate Wanda Fortune. The matter was adjourned to May 3, 2021.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday two men were taken before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts after Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) ranks unearthed quantities of suspected cannabis at their respective homes during a raid.
Derych Roach and Glen Forde both appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan charged for possession of narcotics.
Forde was granted $20,000 bail while Roach was released on $150,000 bail.
The charge read to Roach stated that on April 10, at his Light Street, Alberttown home, ranks unearthed 206 grams of suspected cannabis along with US$20 and $283,700 in local currency.
Meanwhile, Forde denied the charge which stated that on April 10, at his Fifth Street, Alberttown home, CANU ranks unearthed 33 grams of suspected cannabis together with $144,710.
