Home News Drunken man critical after being stabbed with broken glass bottle
Twenty-five-year-old Mahindra Singh of Murphy Dam, West Bank Berbice (WBB), was on Monday evening attacked and stabbed by an identifiable man a short distance from his home.
Police investigation revealed that the victim’s wife and her sister had a heated argument on the day in question at about 21:30h over her sister taking her husband home to sleep due to the fact that he was highly inebriated and a nuisance.
She stated that after she collected her husband and was heading home, the suspect attacked them and stabbed the victim to his right-side chest with a broken glass bottle.
The injured man collapsed and he was picked up and taken to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital, where he was treated but later transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
There he was admitted and is presently in a serious condition. The matter was reported to the Police and an investigation was launched.
The suspect has not been arrested.
