Drunken woman assaults cops who respond to reports of noise nuisance

The Police are investigating an incident in which several of its ranks were assaulted by a drunken woman after they had responded to reports of noise nuisance in the Parika Façade, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) area on Thursday.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a team of Policemen responded to a noise nuisance report made via telephone by a caller against an identifiable female at Parika E.B.E.
Upon arrival at the location, ranks were greeted by loud music coming from the premises of the suspect.
As ranks entered the yard, they noticed the suspect and three other persons consuming alcohol.
As such, she was warned to turn off the music, but instead became aggressive and stated to assault and abuse the ranks. In addition, she started to use a series of expletives. The Police retaliated by seizing the music equipment. Same was taken to the Parika Police Station, where it was lodged. Investigations are ongoing.
