Distribution Services Limited (DSL) on Friday hosted their first ever Rangoli competition for Diwali 2016.

The competition featured a number of creative participants, of which four lucky persons were able to walk away with significant prizes on Friday during a simple ceremony at the company’s Sheriff Street, Greater Georgetown branch. Medals and trophies were up for grabs, along with impromptu prizes for persons who desired to add to the festive competition.

Their events included handing over the grand prize to Radio Guyana’s Rangoli contest winner, Marisa Balkarran, along with tassa, product sampling, and Rangoli competition, among other festivities.

The highlight of the celebrations was their Rangoli Competition which attracted a massive turn out. The participants were judged based on the theme ‘With love and unity we will celebrate good over evil’. They were further graded on other criteria such as use of colour, creativity, relevance and explanation.

Securing the winning spot was Stefon Paul and his colleagues from the University of Guyana Economic Society.

All participants were gifted trophies, hampers and shopping vouchers.
