Duo abandon over 1kg ganja after being stopped by Police

Two men on a motorcycle who were intercepted by Police along Yarrowkabra, Linden-Soesdyke Highway, made good their escape while abandoning over one kilogram of ganja.

Police stated that ranks attached to the Timehri Police Station were on mobile patrol duty on Wednesday at about 20:35h when they observed two males on a motorcycle, with the pillion rider carrying a black bulky haversack on his back.
The ranks, however, signalled the men to stop to which they complied, and as the ranks were about to exit their vehicle, the pillion rider dropped the haversack and both men then ran into the nearby bushes on the side of the roadway.
The haversack, when collected and searched, revealed two large transparent bags containing cannabis.
The cannabis was taken to the Timehri Police Station where it was weighed, and amounted to 1205 grams. The Police are on the hunt for the two identifiable males.
