Duo arrested after more than 27kg of cocaine found stashed in boat

– CANU on the hunt for 3rd suspect who threatened ranks

Two men are now in hot water after ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) swooped down on a vessel and discovered over 27 kilograms of cocaine concealed in the boat’s bow.

Arrested: 49-year-old Muneshwar Dusrajh, aka “Bonny”
Arrested: 35-year-old Latchman Sankar, aka “Jack”

The suspects have been identified as 35-year-old Latchman Sankar, aka “Jack”, and 49-year-old Muneshwar Dusrajh, aka “Bonny’.
Meanwhile, CANU is on the hunt for a third man, Ryan Pemberton, commonly referred to as “Sancho” of Alberttown, Georgetown. He reportedly threatened to kill the CANU ranks after the bust on Saturday.

Persons who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Pemberton are being asked to make contact with CANU on 226-0431.

Based on information deceived, the CANU ranks intercepted the cocaine in a fibre glass vessel at the Parika Backdam, East Bank Essequibo (EBE).

Sankar and Dusrajh were immediately arrested following a search on the vessel – “Go-fast”.
The duo is presently in the custody of the drug enforcement agency.
According to a press release from the agency on Sunday, the 25 parcels were weighed and totalled 27.866 kilograms of cocaine. Investigations into the matter are currently underway.
