Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) have arrested a male and a female after they were found in possession of an illegal weapon and matching ammunition.
The discovery was made on Saturday at Square of the Revolution, Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.
It was reported that the CANU Officers conducted an operation at the Square of the Revolution, and intercepted a motor vehicle with two occupants.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a Lorcin .380 semi-automatic pistol along with a magazine and ammunition
The male, 37-year-old Terry Andrew Joseph and a female passenger were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters with the firearm.
Investigations are ongoing.
