Duo injured after ATV drops into pothole

Two men have been injured after the All-Terrain Vehicle on which they were travelling dropped into a pothole at Falls Top Main Access Road, North West District, Region One (Barima-Waini).
The injured men are Orson Speede, 28, who was driving the ATV, and Roberto Miggins, 30, both of Citrus Grove, Port Kaituma, NWD.
Based on reports received, the vehicle CH8356 was proceeding along the western side of Falls Top Main Access Road at a fast rate of speed when the driver allegedly hit a pothole and lost control of it. As a result, both men fell on the roadway and sustained injures about their heads and bodies.
They were picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Port Kaituma District Hospital, where they were treated and admitted as patients. The condition of each is regarded as stable.
Just two days ago, 20-year-old Mahendra Deopaul of Lot 267 La Parfaite Harmonie, WBD died when the motorcycle he was driving became uncontrollable after it dropped into a pothole along the La Parfaite Harmonie public road, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
It was reported that the now dead man was spotted by the Police driving motorcycle CK 5677 without wearing a safety helmet, and a Police mobile pickup approached him with its flashlight on.
As the ranks attempted to intercept the motorcycle, Deopaul drove away at a fast rate of speed in a bid to evade the Police. The Police vehicle pursued him, and during the high-speed chase that ensued, Deopaul’s motorcycle dropped into a pothole and became uncontrollable, causing him to fall on the roadway.
He was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he died while receiving medical attention.
