Duo injured after minibus turns turtle, driver escapes
The Police are hunting for the driver who fled the scene after crashing a minibus, leaving two persons injured along the Adventure Truck Line Dam, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Injured are Akash Persaud, 17, and Michelle Gouveia, 30 – both residents of Adventure, Essequibo Coast. The incident occurred on Monday at about 17:30h and involved the minibus with registration plates BJJ 4666 driven by a 23-year-old of Adventure, Essequibo Coast.
Police stated that the minibus was proceeding along the said access road when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, thus causing it to topple several times before coming to a halt in a nearby trench.
Immediately after the accident, the occupants were taken out of the minibus to the Suddie Public Hospital where they were treated and admitted as patients.
The Police have confirmed that the driver has since gone into hiding.
