Duo injured in 2-vehicle collision along Brickdam

Two occupants of a motor car were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a truck at the intersection of Brickdam and Sandeman Place, Georgetown.
The injured persons are 62-year-old Pamela Fox of Lot 72 Brickdam, Georgetown, and 29-year-old William Lockhart, 29, of Lot 19 Industry, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Police stated that on the day in question at about 19:30h, the truck bearing registration number GZ 3901 and the motor car, PYY 2821, driven by Fox, were heading in the same direction. The car was reportedly driving behind the truck.
However, at the intersection of Brickdam and Sandeman Place, the motor car reportedly collided with the rear of the truck and as such, the two occupants of the car sustained injuries about their bodies.
They were pulled from the wrecked vehicle and taken by ambulance to the Georgetown Public Hospital where Lockhart was treated and sent away while Fox was admitted a patient.
A breathalyser test was conducted on the driver of the truck, a 44-year-old of De Hoop, Mahaica, but there were no signs of alcohol in his system.
