The Eagles volleyball club decimated their Young Achievers counterparts in straight sets to claim the Demerara Volleyball Association’s 2021 League Championship.
The Eagles showed why they are one of the best teams in the country, as they played as a unit to defeat their opponents 25-18, 25-18 and 26-24.
Young achievers were no match for the dominance of the Eagles attackers. Leading the scoring for the champions were:
* Trevon McRae with 14 points
* Kristoff Shepherd with 12 points
* Quacy Matheson with 12 points
At the presentation ceremony, the prizes were awarded as follows:
* Best setter: Carlos de la Toore
* Best libero: Bepaul Bandoo
* Best outside: Quacy Matheson
* Best opposite: Juan Valesquez
* Best middle blocker: Trevon McRae
* Most improved player: Kirby Richards
* Finals’ MVP: Trevon McRae
