Body in Craig canal
A post mortem examination conducted on the body of the late 28-year-old Kevin Ketwaroo, called “Wild Buck”, a mason of Friendship, East Bank Demerara, revealed that he died from blunt trauma to the head and compression to the neck.
His body was fished out of a canal at Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD) last Monday, and the autopsy was done on Wednesday morning.
According to the Police, Ketwaroo’s sister, Marina McCalmon, related that she had last seen and spoken with her late brother on August 1 at about 07:00h, when he visited her home and borrowed $1000. His wife, Eva, told investigators that, about a month ago, while she and the deceased were living together, he had assaulted her, and she had reported the matter to the Police at the Golden Grove Station. She said that when Police ranks went to the home to arrest him, Ketwaroo had run away, and she had moved out of the house and had gone to live in Sophia, Georgetown.
The Police say that, based on information received, persons in the area of Kaneville, Grove were questioned but claimed they had neither seen nor heard anything strange.
Other information suggested that the deceased had been involved in a fight with persons who might have inflicted the injuries on him. Investigations are ongoing.
The badly decomposed body of Ketwaroo was found at sometime around 13:00h on Monday, clad in a black short sleeve jersey and a pair of blue denim jeans. Barefooted at the time of discovery, a search on the body had unearthed a black Samsung Galaxy mobile phone and $5,800 in cash.
