ECB President pays visit to South Essequibo Under-15 cricketers

Even with the unprecedented rainy conditions that halted the Essequibo Cricket Board’s Under-15 trials, the youths from that area braved the inclement weather and turned out in their numbers at Zorg, where they had practice sessions with Coach Forbes Daniels and other members of the South Essequibo Cricket Association.

At the camp, the 23 young future cricketers displayed their commitment to learning the game, and possibly playing at the highest level.
Paying a visit to the camp was ECB President Deleep Singh, who gave a motivational talk to the lads and stated how impressed he was with what he saw at the practice sessions.
“With limited resources, you still do so much to train our youths, but I know (that) through faith, commitment and the love of sharing knowledge, we can produce quality players to represent Essequibo”.
President Singh and Coach Gonsalves also visited the Reliance sports ground, where similar activities were taking place, and said he enjoyed the enthusiasm displayed by the youths, and was able to spot some good talent at both venues.
Singh further thanked the Area Committees, their members, and the parents for working with these youth cricketers in preparation for the trials.
