ECCI elects new executives

The Essequibo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCI) on Saturday elected a new executive body that is headed by Susan Seewnaryan. She replaced Businessman Aadil Baksh.

The new executives of the Essequibo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Regional Chairperson Vilma De Silva, Regional Vice Chairman Humace Oodit, Regional Executive Officer Susan Saywack and Regional Commander Shivpersaud Bacchus

At the Annual General Meeting (AGM), owner of Jaigobin Hotel and Supermarket, Ganesh Jaigobin was elected as Vice President and Verina Rasheed as the Secretary.
Hilon James was appointed Treasurer while Abigale Loncke was elected as the Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. The committee members include Aadil Baksh, Danraj Singh, Roopan Ramotar, Rawl Pearce, Trandrika Narine, Faranhaz Hosain, Tajkumarie Dalchand, Shaneenie Sukhdeo, and Colleen Prince.
ECCI, under the leadership of the previous President Aadil Baksh, had taken a prominent position in the fight for democracy. He, however, promised to support the new executives and will also assist with new projects as planned.
Meanwhile, the newly elected President Seewnaryne in brief remarks expressed her gratitude to be elected to serve the organisation while indicating her willingness to continue building on the foundation of her predecessors in the advocacy to better the region’s transportation services, health sector, infrastructure, security, and general business development, especially in the agriculture sector, oil and gas, and mining.
Regional Executive Officer (REO) Susan Saywack congratulated the new executives. Also present at the election were Regional Chairperson Vilma De Silva, Regional Vice Chairman Humace Oodit, and Regional Police Commander Shivpersaud Bacchus.
