Eccles man wanted for $2.6M firearm fraud

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has issued a wanted bulletin for 40-year-old David Singh of Eccles New Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD) for questioning in a $2.6 million firearm fraud.
Based on reports received, Singh allegedly collected the money from two brothers, ages 35 and 30, a contractor and an operator, respectively, both of Best Plantation, West Coast Demerara (WCD), between June 1 and June 15, 2026, under the pretence of obtaining firearm licences for them.

Wanted: David Singh

However, after handing over the $2,610,000 to Singh, they later received documents purporting to be firearm licence approvals. The documents were subsequently examined and found to be fraudulent.
The matter was reported to the Police on Monday, July 20, 2026. As such, efforts are being made to locate the suspect and another person connected to the matter as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the Police are urging anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Singh to contact them at telephone numbers 225-8196, 268-2329, 225-1159, 911, or the nearest Police Station.
