Home News ECD man found dead in Kitty building
Detectives are probing the death of 47-year-old Arvinder Singh of Happy Acres, East Coast Demerara (ECD), whose lifeless body was discovered in a building on Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
According to Police, the man’s motionless body was discovered by security guards on Monday about 18:30h.
Singh, who was unemployed, had been reportedly sleeping in the lower flat of the unfinished five-storey concrete structure for about two weeks.
According to one of the security guards, the man was last seen alive about 04:00h on the day his body was discovered. He reportedly told the Police that the now-dead man came to him and collected his cellphone which he had left to charge, filled his water bottle, and went back to bed.
Another security guard told Police that she reported to work about 06:00h and throughout the day, she saw the man lying on the bed.
About 18:30h, when she was relieved, she informed her colleague that Singh had been in bed all day.
A report was subsequently made at the Kitty Police Station and Emergency Medical Technicians from the Central Fire Service Station were informed and visited the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.
The body was further examined and no marks of violence were seen. The man’s body is presently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem. Further investigations are in progress.
