ECD man nabbed with ganja, cocaine

A 27-year-old Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man was on Thursday nabbed with a quantity of cannabis after Police acted on information received. Based on reports received, on the day in question, the man, of Mon Repos South, ECD, was reportedly sitting on a bench with a black plastic bag in his hands.
However, as he noticed the Police, he got up and ran into an abandoned yard. The Police went in pursuit of him and eventually, he was apprehended.
The bag was searched and contained a quantity of ganja and cocaine packed in small zip-lock bags. He was arrested and taken to the Beterverwagting Police Station where the ganja was weighed and amounted to 69 grams. In addition, the cocaine, when weighed, amounted to 13 grams.
At the time of his arrest, he had $32,000 in his possession. He was cautioned and told of the offence. He is expected to make his court appearance in the new week.
