Education Minister Priya Manickchand over the weekend visited four Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) communities: Belle Vue, Sisters Village, Patentia and Vive-La-Force.
During discussions with residents, parents, and students, the Education Minister explained the measures the Ministry has implemented to ensure learning continued and that children were continuously engaged during this time.
Manickchand reminded that in addition to online teaching, the Learning Channel was being utilised to deliver daily lessons to students across all levels and grades. In addition, residents were encouraged to tune into their community radio stations for the Interactive Radio Instruction (IRI) programme and also the Broadcast to Schools.
Residents were also encouraged to visit the Education Ministry’s website (education.gov.gy) to access past papers, textbooks, worksheets, and other learning resources to assist with teaching and learning at this critical time.
