YBGNSBF Georgetown/ECD regionals…
For the next two weekends, the nation’s best and most promising youth basketball teams will have the opportunity to test their skills against their peers as the National Schools Basketball Festival being promoted by Youth Basketball Guyana resumes being played following a break from play this week.
Currently in the Georgetown/East Coast Demerara regional zone, this Festival resumes today and tomorrow with four matches on each day. This weekend’s play will be contested at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) predominantly in the girls’ development and under-14 categories.
Today, President’s College will play Tutorial High in the first fixture, which will be contested in the under-14 category from 15:30hrs; and this will be followed by three girls’ division matches.
Tomorrow play tips off at 14:30hrs with St. Stanislaus College and Bladen Hall looking for an initial win in the under-14 category. Two more under-14 match-ups will follow before the feature game between Plaisance Secondary and Chase Academy gets underway in the under-18 category from 17:00hrs.
This tournament is being sponsored by Edward B. Beharry & Company Ltd, the National Sports Commission, Banks DIH Limited and ExxonMobil; and its fixtures from today to June 1 are listed below.
