At 20:01h on Saturday evening, this newspaper received a request from the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) that we publish 10 “Form 24” purporting to declare the results of the elections in each of the administrative regions. However, because the results of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) are not verified – as attested by all international observers and the international community – and its validity is engaging the attention of the Courts, in our estimation, we would be complicit in an illegality if we were to publish these Form 24s.
