As more preliminary results of the General and Regional Elections continue to trickle in, new information suggests that the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) was declared the victors in Electoral District 6 (East Berbice- Corentyne).
The Returning Officer for the District moments ago released the results which shows the PPP/C securing 43,275 votes in the General Elections while APNU-AFC Coalition got 20,338. These numbers represent a decrease of 1,765 votes for the Coalition based on the final results of the 2015 General Elections. Meanwhile, the PPP/C recorded an increase of 3,665 votes as compared to 2015.
The smaller Parties recorded the following numbers – Change Guyana (364), People Republic Party (166), Liberty and Justice Party (59), The New Movement (17), and United Republic Party (42).
In the Regional Elections, the PPP/C recorded 43,220 votes while APNU-AFC trailed with 20,350.
