End road work

Dear Editor,
For weeks (perhaps months) now, mountains of sand are piled up at the side of the Railway Embankment Road from Sheriff Street to beyond Bel Air Village. Road works are at a standstill. Pedestrians travelling from west to east on that road are forced to walk on the left side of the road, backing close traffic, as it would be suicidal to attempt to walk on the right-hand side, near the piles of sand that spill onto the roadway.
At the Sheriff Street junction, a sign reads END ROAD WORK. Is that a command given to the contractor(s) informing all and sundry, that they are no longer required to continue the road building process, or was the question mark (?) omitted as many ask…Who is responsible for this unfinished business? this untidy state of affairs?! Maybe it is time for the defaulters to find jobs that they are competent enough to complete and END ROAD WORK!

Regards
