Enmore labourer chopped during brawl with neighbour

A 52-year-old labourer is now nursing a chop wound to his head following an altercation with a taxi driver on Sunday at Beezie, Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Police stated that the labourer and the taxi driver are neighbours, and on the day in question at about 00:30h, an argument broke out between them, which subsequently led to a physical altercation.
During the altercation, the 31-year-old taxi driver took away a cutlass that was in the possession of the now-injured man and dealt one blow to his head.
The injured man reportedly collapsed a short distance away from the scene but was observed by ranks on mobile patrol, who immediately transported him to the Enmore Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition.
The suspect was later arrested after he turned up at the Enmore Police Station to report the incident. He was taken to the hospital for medical attention as investigations continue.
