The Enmore Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) in Region Four is said to be under investigation by the Local Government Commission (LGC), which is probing an alleged fraud that occurred at the council after a fundraiser held by the NDC.

Region Four Chairperson, Genevieve Allen, has said the LGC stepped in after a decision was made by the NDC following completion of an investigation into the matter.
“When we did the balance sheet, it was the overseer who was in charge of the monies all the time, and there was, at no time, any losses; so I don’t know what happened,” she explained.
Allen added that after the fundraiser event, the balance sheet showed a profit of $279,000. However, while the BBQ netted an estimated one million dollars in sales, the NDC claimed that it had recorded a loss.
Among the items of expenditure subtracted from the net income were monies for the NDC Chairman and Vice-Chairman, among others.
The RDC Chair has since informed the NDC that she is sending the report to the Local Government Commission for appropriate action to be taken.
