The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Friday last officially launched its first “Green Note – News on the Environment” magazine at the Umana Yana, High Street, Kingston Georgetown.
The publication comes with a goal of increasing public education and awareness by providing intriguing, pertinent and concise information as well as fostering environmental stewardship at all levels of society. It also focuses on the environment into the public and private domains in a reader-friendly format,
Brief remarks were delivered by Executive Director of the EPA, Dr Vincent Adams, Chairman of the EPA Board, Dr Patrick Williams and Stakeholder Management Coordinator, Department of Environment Onika Stellingburg.
The event was attended by members of Government and the Private Sector as well as non-governmental organisations and youth groups. Partners of the magazine officially received their copies of “Green Note” during the simple ceremony.
The EPA expressed gratitude to all partners who contributed to the success of the publication and said it looks forward to continued support as it synergises efforts to make greater inroads for a sustainable and prosperous Guyana.
