Lusignan Prison break
One of the three prisoners who escaped from the Lusignan penitentiary on Monday last was recaptured in the vicinity of the Soesdyke Junction on Friday morning.
Murder accused Travis Evans was apprehended by members of the Joint Services at about 07:45h after they received information about his whereabouts. This was confirmed by acting Director of Prisons, Gladwin Samuels who stated that the

Joint Services received information about the man being sighted in the area.
As a result, several search teams were dispatched to the area and ultimately apprehended the 23-year-old escapee. He was taken to a Police station where he
was being questioned in connection with the whereabouts of the other two escapees – Sudesh Dyal, 23, and 29-year-old Dextroy Pollard.
The Prisons Director thanked the public-spirited persons who assisted the members of the Joint Services in recapturing the murder accused while encouraging others to follow suite.
The trio escaped from the Lusignan Prison at about 04:30h on Monday, October 15, 2018, by scaling the fence between towers three and four which were

equipped with security personnel.
At the time, there were also five prison officers and Police ranks in close proximity to the area where the men escaped but no one reportedly saw any unusual movements or sounds.
At a subsequent press conference, the acting Director of Prisons explained that he received a telephone call informing him that there was a prison break about two hours after it occurred.
