A drinking spree among family members ended in murder at Bush Lot, Essequibo Coast on Monday.
Undertakers removing Naresh Ramdass’s body
Dead is Naresh Ramdass, a father of one of Fourth Street, Bush Lot, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam). Reports are Ramdass, along with his brother and uncle, was imbibing when an argument ensued.
Guyana Times was told that the trio usually imbibed together, and it has become a norm for them to fight in the process. However, on Monday, the fight ended with Ramdass’s death.
A relative told this newspaper that about midday on Monday, Ramdass was seen with a piece of wood in his hand heading in the direction of the seawall, which is about 80 feet from his home with blood on his body. The Police were informed and responded promptly. However, by the time they arrived, Ramdass was dead and his uncle fled the scene. He was subsequently apprehended at a Police road block in Suddie.
Ramdass’s body was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital mortuary. Ramdass leaves to mourn his wife and daughter. Police are investigating. (Mohanlall Seulall)
