Essequibo Coast farmer killed by alleged drunken driver
Poultry farmer Kevon Tacourdeen of Lot 9, Dry Shore, Essequibo Coast was reportedly riding motorcycle CH 4268 east along the northern carriageway of the
Fairfield Public Road, Essequibo Coast on Monday at about 17:30h, when he was struck by motor pick-up GEE 1179, which allegedly was negotiating a turn and heading north along the western lane at a very fast rate of speed.
Following the accident, the 32-year-old Tacourdeen was rushed to the Suddie Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He leaves to mourn his wife and a six-month-old son.
Police have since confirmed that the driver of the pickup, a 34-year-old resident of Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast, failed a breathalyser test and is in Police custody.
