A 33-year-old man, Ron Williams of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, and Jhoanlis Aurora Perez Palma were on Monday taken before the Bartica Magistrates’ Court to answer to a charge of unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition without a licence. The two were arrested on November 9 and appeared before Magistrate Tariq Mohamed, where the charge was formally read to them. Both defendants pleaded not guilty. 
They were each granted bail in the sum of $80,000 per charge, totaling $160,000 each and instructed to report to the Itaballi Police checkpoint on the first Friday of every month.
The case has been adjourned to December 12.
