Essequibo goldsmith killed after car turns turtle

A tragic accident along the Devonshire Castle Public Road, Essequibo Coast, in the wee hours of Monday claimed the life of a 25-year-old goldsmith after he reportedly lost control of the motor car he was driving.
Dead is Lorenzo Nickolas Hendricks of Charity, Essequibo Coast. He was the son of the owner of Sunflower Hotel and Bar of Charity, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

The state of the car after the accident

Police stated that the accident occurred at about 00:40h on Monday morning as the young man and a friend were heading home from a get-together.
At the time of the accident, Hendricks was driving a motor car bearing registration number PFF 8892, while a 16-year-old male student of Charity Secondary School was a passenger.
He was proceeding north along Devonshire Castle Public Road at an alleged fast rate of speed and while negotiating a turn, the young businessman lost control of the vehicle.
As a result, the car toppled several times before ending up in a nearby trench. The injured man was pulled from the wreckage by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Reports indicate that just before the accident, the now dead man was imbibing in the company of friends before entering his vehicle and driving off.
The teenager, on the other hand, received minor injuries and was treated at the Suddie Hospital and sent away. Following his death, his friends took to social media to express their shock at his passing. From the information gathered, he was a kind, willing and free-handed individual.

One of his friends related that it was extremely surprising that his life was snuffed out in that manner since he was not known for drinking and driving. His father when contacted was too distraught to speak.
The young man leaves to mourn his parents, siblings and many friends and relatives. His body is at the Suddie Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem.
