Essequibo pastor charged for drugging, raping church member

Collin Samuels, a pastor at the People’s Restoration Ministries in Essequibo, was on Tuesday charged in relation to allegedly drugging and raping a female. Also known as “Pastor Sammy”, he appeared before Magistrate Esther Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was granted $150,000 bail. According to reports, the female alleged that on April 2, 2022, Pastor Samuels gave her something to drink, after which she felt dizzy and requested to be taken home.
Instead, she alleged that the pastor raped her. She thereafter filed a Police report which led to Samuels being arrested and prosecuted.
