Essequibo teens charged for smoking ganja 

Two teenagers from Onderneeming Sandpit in Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam) were on Tuesday charged for smoking cannabis.
The duo made their first appearance before Magistrate Ester Sam at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court.
Travis Francis, 17, a labourer, and Keron Chappel, 16, also a labourer, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the prosecution, on September 23, 2017, they were caught smoking the illegal substance. During the first hearing, Chappel was released into the custody of his aunt, and Francis was granted 00 bail. The case will be called again on October 14, 2017.
