Everest U-13 cricketers set for international experience

Fifteen talented under thirteen cricketers from the Everest Cricket Club will be get the experience of a lifetime

The U-13 cricketers won the Georgetown Cricket Association’s Malta Supreme competition and the club rewarded them by providing the entire squad with tickets to watch the West Indies versus Australia clash in the second match of the Ballr Cup Tri-Nation Series at Providence.

This will be the first experience for majority of the players and it will be more memorable since it will be a day/night fixture.

West Indies won the opening match with a four wicket victory over South Africa and will now face a much bigger challenge against World Champions Australia. Both teams are star studded and the future stars of Everest Cricket Club will be licking their lips to witness such a contest.

At the simple presentation ceremony in the compound of Everest CC, club secretary Carmachand Rambarran handed over the tickets and told the youngsters to “enjoy the entire day and cherish the memories that will sure to last a lifetime.”

Winning coach, Shaheed Mohamed also urged his team to soak up the atmosphere and work hard so that one day they will make it to the big stage as well.

West Indies take on Australia at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence from 13:00 Hrs in the 50 overs per side contest. The Guyana leg of the series wraps up on Tuesday when powerhouses South Africa and Australia clash in another day/night classic.
