Ex-cop remains under Police guard after death of girlfriend

As investigations continue into the deadly shooting which claimed the life of 27-year-old Collisa Hunte in Linden on Thursday last, her reputed husband, ex-policeman Teon Allen also known as “Spoil Child” remains hospitalised under Police guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

An official close to the case noted that Allen, who is being treated for a suspected gunshot wound, is in a stable condition. Unofficial reports are that he is suspected to be involved in the shooting incident involving himself and girlfriend.
Allen, who was recently shot during a shootout with Police, is being treated for a suspected wound in the region of his upper shoulder and back. The suspected wound is reportedly in the same area where he was previously shot.
While details of the incident are sketchy, reports are that the two came under fire at approximately 13:30h on the day in question while they were alone at the Amelia’s Ward house which is situated in a “desolate” section of the area. Police were summoned to the scene following the incident. Reports are that Allen alerted the deceased’s father, informing him that she was dead while he went to the hospital.

Family members who rushed to the scene are said to have found the woman slumped over on the kitchen floor bleeding from her nose and mouth. She was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. The dead woman’s father is said to have alerted ranks of the incident.
Ranks who visited the scene recovered four rounds and matching spent shells from the scene of the shooting. Divisional Commander Hugh Winter had noted on Thursday that it appeared as though several shots were fired at the location but given the remoteness of the area, there were no eyewitnesses. Investigators believe that the shots were fired from inside the house.
Following Thursday’s shooting, family and friends of the duo flocked the hospital and were in shock and disbelief over the incident.
Allen is suspected to be involved in an alleged gang rivalry which has reportedly led to numerous acts of violence being meted out against him in the past.
The dead woman’s mother, Yolanda Johnson, was devastated following the incident. The woman related that she was never in favour of the couple’s relationship, since she knew she was putting her life in danger.
“I used to beg her to let go but she never listened”, the clearly traumatised woman had related.
