A former member of the Guyana Police Force was on Friday granted bail by Magistrate Leron Daly when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged with assault and break and enter and larceny.
Imran Khan of Lot 1753 Second Avenue, Westminster, West Bank Demerara, denied both of the charges after they were read to him.
It was alleged that Khan, on May 26, 2018, in the vicinity of Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown, he assaulted Police Lance Corporal Mark Moses with intent to cause him actually bodily harm.
Police also stated that on May 22, 2018, while at Independence Boulevard, Georgetown he broke and entered the dwelling house of Natasha Harrichand and carted off US$2500, GY$500,000, three mobile phones and other articles.
Khan was ordered to pay $30,000 bail on the assault charge and another $100,000 for the break and enter and larceny charges. The matters were adjourned until June 14, and July 6 respectively.
