Excel Guyana welcomes VP of client services, recruitment

Excel Guyana on Tuesday welcomed Ewan Shanks as Vice President of Client Services and Recruitment.
According to the company, as a member of the executive leadership team, Shanks will be responsible for growing the organisation’s local and international recruitment division to support businesses expanding in Guyana.

Excel Guyana Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kris Sammy said that Shanks brought a wealth of experience in placing the right people, in the right jobs to help businesses grow.
The company noted that with 28 years of experience in local and international recruiting, business development and client services, Shanks is an objective professional, connecting businesses with skilled and qualified talent.
Originally from Guyana, Shanks strongly believes in recruiting, training, and advancing local employees before sourcing internationally in keeping with the Local Content Policy. Throughout his career, he has built an extensive network of resources for local and international talent at all levels from the c-level suite to the general labourer.
Speaking about his appointment, Shanks said: “As our recruiting division grows, one of my personal passions is to work with and encourage organisations to invest in outplacement services, which will allow them to assist their laid-off or retrenched workers. This service includes assistance in updating resumes, training on interviewing skills and job relocation assistance if necessary. In this way, we can support our community.”
Prior to joining the Excel Guyana team, Shanks honed his skills working with two of the largest and most successful executive search firms in Toronto, Canada.
