“Exciting future” ahead for Soesdyke residents in 2022 – Min McCoy

Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister, Kwame McCoy on Sunday last attended an annual Christmas party and tree light-up in the community of Soesdyke on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD) hosted by JSB Investments Inc and told the residents that they can look forward to more fruitful work from the Government in the near future.

Attending the small event held to give back to the community, Minister McCoy told the gathering that they can look forward to improvements in their livelihoods in 2022, courtesy of the PPP/C Government.
McCoy thanked JSB Investments Inc for their charitable initiative that will no doubt put a smile on the faces of the boys and girls in the community.
McCoy said that it is initiatives like the one JSB Investments have done that helps communities to grow and support other initiatives. He stressed that it is important for businesses to do their social part in helping communities like Soesdyke.
“This business [JSB Investments Inc] helps our children and will be bringing on their faces, smiles and joy for the Christmas season.”
The Minister spoke enthusiastically of the future and told the residents and neighbouring communities that come 2022, they can look forward to things being done by the Government that would benefit the people of Guyana as a whole.
“…2022 is ahead of us, and I dare say it’s going to be an exciting year as you have seen what the Government has been about in its programme for development. We have been working hard to make sure that we can create conditions and opportunities for people to do well and to excel,” he said.
McCoy further stated that the Government has also been working hard so that they can take care of situations of the poor, the public servants and all of the people that make up the country.
He added that the Government has been working hard despite the pandemic, putting the safety of the people first.
“We are preparing the ground for the grand development in this country, and so 2022 is going to be an exciting year. And I would love to see every single person here [the people at the event] tonight, every single one of us, enter 2022 knowing that we are going to be a part of an exciting future ahead,” the Minister said.
Stating that Guyana is on a road of great prosperity, it is also up to the people of Guyana, along with the Government to keep ourselves safe and follow the COVID-19 protocols to protect ourselves from being infected by the deadly virus that’s been sweeping the nation.
