Home News Farmer dies after crashing into utility pole
An allegedly intoxicated farmer was on Monday afternoon killed after he reportedly crashed a car which he had not been given permission to drive into a utility pole at Chance Village, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dead is 54-year-old Carl Richmond, of Lot 54 Strath Campbell Village, Mahaicony. Reports are the owner of the motor car, HC 6694, who resides at Republic Park, ECD, stopped to rest at Richmond’s home.
However, Richmond, who was highly intoxicated reportedly collected the motor car unbeknownst to the owner and went for a drive. It was during this drive the unlicensed driver crashed into the utility pole.
Richmond sustained injuries and was rushed to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigations are ongoing.
