A 59-year-old farmer, Lindon Fraser, was granted $40,000 bail on Wednesday when he appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court charged with fraudulent conversion.

Fraser, of 1KM Rockstone Road, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), allegedly committed the offence on June 1. The charge was laid pursuant to section 197 (1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act.
The accused, who was arrested on November 14, was not required to plead to the indictable charge. His next court date is January 14, for reports.
