Farmer stabbed to death by stepson

An argument between a Pomeroon River, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) man and his stepson ended in murder on Sunday morning.

Eon Williams’s body being transported to the Oscar Joseph District Hospital

Dead is Eon Williams of Grant Bethany, Pomeroon River.
Reports are the 40-year-old man and his 20-year-old stepson, along with another relative, were imbibing at their home about 03:00h on Sunday when an argument ensued between the accused and his cousin.
Guyana Times was told that the stepfather intervened to make peace, but he too became embroiled in an argument with the accused. The man then picked up an old standby generator frame and hit his stepson on his hand. In retaliation, the 20-year-old armed himself with a knife and dealt his stepfather a fatal stab to his right abdomen. The man fell to the ground where he bled out. The Police were informed and visited the scene about 07:30h on Sunday.
The body was brought out by the Police to Charity by boat, and doctors at the Oscar Joseph District Hospital, Charity confirmed the death.
Williams’s stepson is presently in Police custody assisting with the investigation.
