Farmers nabbed with illegal gun, ammo

Two farmers from Fair View Kurupukari were on Friday morning nabbed with an unlicensed shotgun and two cartridges at Kurupukari Crossing, Region Nine.

Guyana Times understands that the Police, acting on information, went to the crossing, where they conducted a search on a wooden boat which the duo, aged 30 and 54, were occupying. The search unearthed a twelve-gauge single-barrel shotgun and two matching cartridges.

The men were arrested and are being processed for court. For the year thus far, police in ‘F’ Division (Interior Locations) have recovered 15 illegal firearms.
