Farmsup/Doosan/Team Alanis-organised cycling rescheduled for July 21

The Ministry of Home Affairs having announced that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday July 21 instead of Tuesday July 20, the Farmsup/ Doosan/Team Alanis-organised cycle race has consequently been rescheduled for Wednesday July 21.
Some of the country’s top cyclists will battle for supremacy on the roadways of the West Side when this 45-mile contest is held. It will commence at Schoonord, West Bank Demerara and race to Bushy Park, Parika, East Bank Essequibo, before returning for the finish at the western end of the Demerara Harbour Bridge. The action starts at 8:00hrs.
This event is organised by Team Alanis Cycle Club (TACC). Farm Supplies Ltd (Farmsup) has pledged to put up a total of $485,000 in prizes for the top six finishers in the open category, as well as the top three cyclists in the female, junior, masters under-50 and masters over-50 categories.
The masters, females and juniors would cover a distance of 30 miles, while those contesting the open category would cover the full 45-mile distance.
The race has 10 sprint prizes each worth $5,000.
